Earth Day Celebration Schedule

10am: Guided tour of nursery demonstration gardens to learn how to incorporate native plants into your landscape. Learn which plants improve health of the environment, providing habitat for important pollinators and Monarch Butterflies. See beautiful plants that use less water

11am: Lonesome Moon with Steve-O Gillett

12 noon: Shauna Potocky Kirk Keeler: spoken word and storytelling

1pm: Lonesome Moon with Steve-O Gillett

2pm: Open Mike with Sierra High School English Students

Liz Laury's food booth will be on hand providing home made choices for lunch.

Kirk Keeler

Kirk Keeler is a landscape photographer who currently works at The Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite National Park.His passion is helping nature tell stories through photographic capture.Kirk is an experienced teacher and provides photography classes for visitors as well as students; he has a passion for teaching and sharing his knowledge, while pushing his own skills and abilities and helping others enjoy doing the same. Through his dedication, people from all over the world become inspired to truly explore photography as an artistic medium and method of expression while also deeply connecting them to nature.  His art and teaching style inspire a love of nature that transcends not just capturing images but also caring for the landscape.  In addition, Kirk is an emerging writer who seeks to connect photography to powerful and moving stories.

 

Shauna Potocky

Shauna Potocky is a writer, poet, educator, naturalist and catalyst. She makes her home in the Sierra Nevada and among the granite wonders of Yosemite National Park. She has a strong background and deep passion for science, education, public lands management and stewardship. She thrives on bringing the wonders of the natural world to life for others through exploration, field journaling, storytelling, poetry and spoken word. Shauna has been recognized for her efforts in bringing art, poetry and the world of wilderness to people who would otherwise not have a connection to nature.
